Background of the Study
Supply chain strategies are essential for achieving operational efficiency and customer satisfaction in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector. Lean supply chain strategies emphasize waste reduction and cost efficiency, while agile strategies focus on flexibility and responsiveness to changing customer demands (Okonkwo & Garba, 2024).
Nigerian Bottling Company, a key player in the FMCG sector, operates in a dynamic market environment where both lean and agile strategies are relevant. However, selecting the optimal strategy depends on market conditions, product characteristics, and organizational goals, particularly in regions like Adamawa State, where logistical challenges are prominent (Ahmed & Musa, 2023).
Statement of the Problem
FMCG companies often struggle to balance cost efficiency and responsiveness in their supply chain strategies. For Nigerian Bottling Company in Adamawa State, reliance on either lean or agile strategies without adequate analysis may lead to inefficiencies and reduced competitiveness. This study examines the effectiveness of lean and agile supply chain strategies to identify the most suitable approach for the company’s operations (Usman & Ibrahim, 2023).
